Suzzanne Kelley was born in Alaska, “The Last Frontier,” and that is exactly how it felt as she grew up tramping through forests of birch and spruce, riding the swells of the treacherous Tanana in a riverboat, and swatting mosquitoes—the only bane of her existence. Since her move to North Dakota, her world has been made new with the possibility of exploring multiple frontiers—here and abroad, home and away. Historian, editor, and author, she writes about the Great Plains, Australia, and New Zealand.
